What kind of flower is the fantastic overnight flower \"Sagaribana\"?<\/h2>\n

Sagaribana is a plant that spreads from eastern Africa to the tropics and subtropics of Southeast Asia. In Japan, it is found in the Nansei Islands south of Amami-Oshima. The sagaribana tree is large, about 15 meters tall, and its leaves are about 30 centimeters long. The flowers are beautiful white or pink in color in inflorescences 50 cm to 1 meter long.<\/p>\n

The color of the sagaribana flower depends on the composition of the soil in the area, sometimes bright pink, sometimes a soft cream color.Its flowers emit a lustrous sweet fragrance that attracts bees and other insects as well as humans.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flowering season is from the latter half of June to the end of July, and is cherished as a midsummer tradition in Okinawa. Sagaribana are also called \"overnight flowers,\" and as the name suggests, they are very mysterious and ephemeral flowers that fall in a single night. As the sun sets on the horizon, the buds of the sagaribana, which have swelled up during the day, begin to prepare to bloom for just one night. The mysterious white and pale pink flowers fall with the rising sun.Like fireflies or fireworks, it is a fleeting yet beautiful summer tradition that wears a fleeting glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tourists often become repeat visitors and come back year after year to see the sagaribana. There is something about the sagaribana that attracts them so much.<\/p>\n

It is of course possible for individuals to go to see the sagaribana on their own, but it is very dangerous to go through the forest without knowing where it is located.<\/span>Since the habu are nocturnal, it is not unlikely that you may inadvertently encounter them while the sagaribana is in bloom. Also, it is dark in the forest and difficult to see where you are going, so there is a danger of catching your foot on the roots of mangroves or other trees. There is also no possibility that you may enter the local people's precious land without permission.<\/p>\n
