Pinaisara" is a dialect of Iriomote Island that means "a waterfall like a beard. It sure looks like a beard when you actually see it!
Now, first, we will use a canoe to proceed down the river to this Pinaisara Falls.

Even if you are a canoeing beginner, you can do it! Our guides will give you a detailed lecture & support. (*Don't worry, we rarely see people capsize!)
The mangrove river on the way to Pinaisara Falls has almost no current, so it is suitable for small children and the elderly who are not sure about their physical strength.
Two-person canoes are also available, so small children can ride with a guide or parent.
Reef boots can be rented for free for your feet, and waterproof bags can be rented for free to keep your cell phone and other items dry.

You will get used to kayaking after about 5 minutes. Take a break from time to time to rest your hands and paddle along at a leisurely pace.
The mangrove forest leading to Pinaisara Falls is home to a variety of creatures, and children and adults alike will be enthralled by the never-before-seen flora and fauna.
As we paddled leisurely in the canoe, feeling the birds chirping and the pleasant breeze blowing through our skin...at last!

Pinaisara comes into view in the distance! The view from here alone is powerful, but an even more amazing sight awaits you when you go directly below the falls.
Paddling the canoe by myself, I was thrilled as we gradually approached Pinaisara Falls!

After getting off the canoe, we will trek through the jungle to the Pinaisara waterfall basin. We will proceed through the lush green forest that is the identity of Iriomote Island.
Even though it is spring, it is not unusual for the temperature to exceed 25 degrees Celsius at this time of year on Iriomote Island. Although the sunlight is intense, it is not so hot in the forests because the leaves of the trees block the sunlight.
The breeze through the jungle is cool and just right. It is probably the best forest bathing experience in Japan.
After 15 minutes of trekking and a good sweat...

Finally, we arrived at Pinaisara Falls! We took a short break while looking up 55 meters at the waterfall basin with splashing water.
Just sitting by the waterfall is cool and soothing, but if that's not enough...

Boom! Let's go swimming in the waterfall! You can even dive in!
Children's energetic voices echo in the waterfall basin. The clear water of Pinaisara is a bit cool, so you will be healed in a good way.

Life jackets are provided, so even if you are not a good swimmer, don't worry. Float in the waterfall basin and relax ....... Let's spend a relaxing time.
Pinaisara Falls, Takigami Takitsubo Canoeing & Trekking CourseThe course of the "Pinaisara Falls" will take you to the top of the Pinaisara Falls!

It takes about 40 minutes to get to the top of the waterfall. Although it is a little more strenuous than the walk to the waterfall basin, it is a popular tour among many people because it takes you to a spot where you can look down on the Pinaisara Falls.
Mount Tedou, the mountain from which Pinaisara flows, is flat near its top like Table Mountain.
Therefore, the gradient is hard at first, but the second half is an easy walk up the mountain. After a breathless climb, you will reach...
Such a spectacular view awaits you! Beyond the green jungle, the blue ocean stretches endlessly!

Yaeyama soba noodles with a spectacular view is the best! (1 day course will have lunch here.)
