It was the best day of my life, like a dream! I joined the tour with my 6th grade son who loves living things. The guide, Minon, who picked us up at Uehara Port, was very cheerful and made us feel at ease. Not only the canoeing, but also the backpack, water bottle, shoes, and shower were lent to us, and we only needed to prepare a change of clothes. 👍️ Mangrove canoeing for the first time The courage and exhilaration of diving into a waterfall basin Delicious lunch on the waterfall A hot drink during a break Encountering endangered species The great nature of Iriomote Island The smiles of everyone who joined us on the tour We were glad that Mr. Mion took pictures of various dynamic scenes and offered them to the tour participants free of charge! Next time I visit Iriomote Island, I would like to stay at Mariudo's and join other tours!

If you come to Ishigaki Island, it is worth going to Iriomote Island to join this tour. As the canoe goes up through brackish water, you can enjoy the difference in vegetation due to the difference in salinity (the shape of the mangrove roots is different). The climb up to the waterfall is about 100 meters, but even those who are not confident in their physical strength can do it, as it is said that elderly people and pre-kindergarten children have also made it to the waterfall. The view from the cliff where the waterfall falls is breathtaking. After descending, you will go to the basin of the waterfall, which is more powerful than Minoh, Nachi, and Fukuroda Falls because you can get close enough to be splashed by the water. The guide will share with you trivia about Iriomote Island at various places, so you will never get bored on the way.

And canoeing was relaxing and comfortable, The trekking was sometimes a bit intimidating for those of us who are not usually athletic, I will never forget the view of the ocean and forest from the top of the waterfall! The warm Yaeyama soba noodles soaked in my mouth. The seasoning was also excellent! All in all, it was a very luxurious experience. Highly recommended!

However, we were able to enjoy our time with peace of mind as we were carefully taught how to paddle a canoe, how to walk around rocky areas and limestone caves, and about the flora and fauna of Iriomote Island. The guide's homemade lunch was also very delicious. Thank you very much, Mr. Ishikawa of Mariudo. For me, it was a wonderful jungle expedition. (The photos of mangroves and limestone caves were taken by Ms. Ishikawa)

We were told that most of the flights to Uehara Port in February would be cancelled, but on the day of the tour, which we welcomed with prayerful anticipation, we were blessed with unusually sunny weather with a temperature of 27 degrees Celsius and were able to enjoy a great tour. I was traveling alone, but I was very much indebted to Mai-san of Nilina Holidays, who was as old as my daughter. Thank you very much. I would like to visit again sometime in another season.

I was very satisfied. Thank you very much to our guide, Mr. Nakano of Marioud. Some tour companies don't allow people over 60 years old to sign up, but I was able to join this tour even though I am 66 years old, and it was a piece of cake physically. I could have spent the whole day paddling the canoe alone. During the trekking to the top of the waterfall, we were told many interesting stories about plants and animals in Iriomote Island (the picture is a long-armed shrimp above Pinaisara Falls), temperament and life of people in Okinawa region, and so on. It became an island I would like to revisit in the near future.

I participated as a single woman in my 20s, and I enjoyed the perfect balance between the part where the guides and participants were friendly and talked to me and the part where they left me alone! It was just the right amount of exercise for someone who doesn't usually exercise but wants a challenge. I strongly recommend participating in this tour because you can see the wonderful scenery that is unique to Iriomote Island + the guide will share with you his/her various knowledge! The photos taken by the guide were very nice, so I will share them with you.

Although the tour was cancelled due to a typhoon, I really wanted to experience it and was able to do so with my second reservation! Our guide, Mr. Taku, told us that after the typhoon, many things had changed, but it was really an exciting experience with abundant nature. When canoeing, we put our backpacks at the foot of the canoe, but if water gets inside the canoe, your backpacks will get soaked. It would be better not to bring anything you don't want to get wet. The trekking was harder than I expected. However, it was a very enjoyable way to touch creatures and to have explanations about Iriomote Island. When we arrived at the top of the waterfall, we were served Yaeyama soba (buckwheat noodles) made by Taku-san. It was impressive and delicious! We took a lot of pictures, and the one-day plan went by in a flash. We wore hats, long-sleeved rash guards, and leggings to protect ourselves from sunburn and injury, but it was too hot...we should have worn something a little more breezy. Thank you, Taku, for a dreamy time. We will be back for revenge! Next time, please do snorkeling too.

My 17-year-old son and 49-year-old me applied for this tour. The guide, Yuko-san, was very funny and gave us precise instructions, so even though I was worried about my physical fitness, we were able to complete the tour safely. I was lent a waterproof backpack, and dressed in a swimsuit, so as not to expose any skin. During the tour, Yuko-san explained about various plants and animals and took many pictures. We were given an airdrop at the end of the tour. First of all, it was very pleasant and fun to canoe through the mangroves. The trek to the top of the waterfall was harder than I expected, almost like cliff climbing in my sense. Sweat was pouring out of my entire body and my muscles were screaming.... I couldn't climb without instructions like, "Put your right leg here, now hold on to this! I don't think I would have been able to climb without such instructions. It was a great feeling when we arrived at the top of the waterfall and cooled off in the clean water. I was scared when I heard that the drop was 50 meters, but when I looked into the basin of the waterfall, I saw the best view I have ever seen. For lunch, Yuko-san brought a big backpack with a pot and other things out of it, and we had very tasty Okinawan soba noodles. I was so impressed that I would never have lunch at such a high place with such a beautiful view again. Afterwards, we walked to the waterfall basin again. We had a great time at the waterfall basin, jumping in and climbing on the rocks. We even had snacks and coffee. It was a very nice experience. On the way back, we paddled leisurely in the canoe. It was tiring, but it was a great memory. If you have the weather and stamina, I recommend going to the top of the falls as well.

My family of four (father, mother, junior high school student, and elementary school student) participated in the tour. I had heard beforehand that it was quite a walk, but it was about 1.5 times harder than I had imagined. I was a little worried that my 4th grader would not be able to finish the tour, but the guide told us fun stories along the way and he was able to enjoy the tour even though it was hard work. The view from the top of the waterfall was spectacular, and the Yaeyama soba (buckwheat noodles) that the guide made on the spot was better than anything I had eaten at any restaurant. The hot drink after jumping into the waterfall to cool down was also great. The adults had sore muscles the next day, but I think it was a great experience for the children. Thank you very much.

For lunch, the guide cooked soki saba (buckwheat noodles) for us, which we did not expect to eat on top of Pinaisara Falls. It was the most delicious. This tour allows you to fully enjoy the great nature of Iriomote Island. You will paddle a canoe through a mangrove forest river, climb steep rocky terrain in places, and walk on the forest floor of a subtropical forest. You can see the roots of Okinawa white oak and saxifrage, see rare shrimps, and experience many other things. The guide was also very cheerful. The tour was easy enough for children of university students, but for parents who lack exercise, it was a good workout and highly recommended. It was rainy season in January, but the day we joined the tour was nice and sunny.

I could feel the mangroves and mountains of Iriomote up close, which I used to see only by sightseeing boats. The guide's stories about the islands were also very informative. The weather was not always good, but it was also a good experience because it was "rainy season now". Although mountain climbing requires some physical strength, I think it is a good tour to experience Iriomote in one day.

But my son, who is in 4th grade, was not scared but rather enjoyed it. Our guide, Take-chan, showed us a termite nest, and even caught a tree lizard for us. The highlight of the tour was lunch time, when we viewed the Pinaisara Falls from above. The waterfall basin looking down from the precipitous cliff, the jungle of Iriomote Island, and the pale green sea. This scenery was so amazing that pictures cannot convey it. Here, Take-chan made us Okinawan soba (buckwheat noodles). The broth, which was handmade by the owner of the Mariudo guest house, and the soki were delicious! This soba in such a beautiful setting was just too luxurious. We then descended to the waterfall basin, where we jumped off the rocks and had a great time.
