竹富子午線ふれあい館とは

西表島の祖納集落にあります。

1997年に祖内に北緯123度45分6.789秒の子午線が通っていることが発見され、記念としてモニュメントが建立されています。

モニュメントからは毎晩19、20、21、22時に緑色のレーザー光線が30分ずつ夜空の子午線に向かって照射されています。

特にみどころというほどではないですが、サクッとよって記念撮影するぐらいで大丈夫です。
