西表野生生物保護センターとは
イリオモテヤマネコの保護活動の拠点として造られた施設です。
イリオモテヤマネコだけでなく、西表島に生息する鳥や渡り鳥、動物などのはく製が多数展示されています。
また2022年7月にリニューアルオープンし、「みて、きいて、かいで、さわれる」西表島の多様性を体感できる展示・体験コーナーが出来ました。
西表野生生物保護センターでの遊び方
野生のイリオモテヤマネコを見るのは数が少ないうえに夜行性なので、かなり難しいです。
西表野生生物保護センターでは野生ではないですが、はく製や映像を見ることができます。
他にも西表島特有の渡り鳥、動物たちを勉強できます。

Ferry boarding is required to go to Iriomote Island!
Ferry boarding is required from Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island.
Ishigakijima Remote Island Terminal is very crowded, so purchase in advance and board the boat comfortably!
