What is Minamikazumida Beach?

The beach is located in the southeast of Iriomote Island, facing the shallow sea surrounded by reef.

It was the site of forced evacuation of Hateruma islanders during the war, and many precious lives were lost due to malaria.

I wanted to remember this sad event and to say, 'Monument of Forget-me-notsis being built.
