On the roads of Iriomote Island, traffic accidents with animals are much more common than accidents with people. It is not unusual to see rare creatures or Iriomote wildcat lying on the road after a traffic accident... Unlike in cities, there are few people and cars in Iriomote Island, so people tend to speed up or become careless in front of their driving while looking at the nature of Iriomote Island. .... You may think that you can camp anywhere as long as you have a tent, but camping should be done in designated campgrounds. Campers should only camp in designated campgrounds. Making a fire or sleeping in an uninhabited area may startle animals and may cause wildfires or other dangers.
Especially from June to August, camping on the beach is absolutely prohibited because sea turtles come up to the beach to lay their eggs! Sea turtles are very cautious animals, so if they sense the presence of people, they will not come up to lay eggs....
