(1) Nettling
Amitori is located in a calm bay in the western part of Iriomote Island and is one of the best coral colonies in Okinawa.
The clear waters with colorful tropical fish are ideal for snorkeling. The contrast between the blue ocean and white sand is beautiful, making it a paradise on earth.

(2) Boating
Funauki is an unexplored region of Iriomote Island inaccessible by land, and once prospered from coal mining.

(iii) Outer islands (Sotopanari)

Uchi-Iriomote Island is about 700 meters from Shirahama Beach on Iriomote Island, and is connected to the outer islands by a spit at low tide.
Coal mining was promoted during the Meiji period (1868-1912), but was withdrawn due to malaria.
Today, the ruins of a trolley rail and a public bath remain, giving visitors a sense of the harsh environment of that time.

6) Shirahama
In the Shirahama area in the central part of Iriomote Island, there is a port to Funauki, an isolated island on land, and the westernmost bus stop in Japan.

(7) Sonai
Sonai is an old settlement spreading over the Mt. Sonai area in the northwestern part of Iriomote Island, and flourished as the center of the western part of the island until the mid-20th century.

Places of interest include the Niimori Family Residence, Iriomote Island Post Office, Sonai TV relay station, and Taketomi Town Iriomote Elementary and Junior High School.

8) Mayagusuku Waterfall

Yutun Waterfall is a three-tiered waterfall with a drop of about 35 meters located in the upper reaches of the Yutun River. On rainy days, the dynamic cascading water is an impressive sight.
