What is Kula Falls?

Iriomote IslandUehara PortA little to the east of the "Kula River," there is a small waterfall with a drop of about 5 meters.

The name "Koola" of Koola Falls means "to bring good luck. It is the kind of waterfall that local people in Iriomote also come to visit.

Around the Kula River, "modama trees" that look like large pea pods grow wild, making it an ideal place for observing the nature of Iriomote Island.

You can also see a leaf that Totoro used as an umbrella (kuwazui-mo), and a rare tree (saxifrage tree) that appears in the movie "Jurassic Park" and can only be found in Iriomote Island in Japan.
