島の南側にある鳩間港から島中央にある物見台跡の鳩間中森に向かう途中にあります。

赤瓦の屋根の古民家民宿『まるたい』の裏あたりに位置しています。

昔は島の水源として活躍していましたが、今は使われておらず、草も伸びており、井戸の場所もパッとわからず、若干危険です。

近づくと古い井戸や石垣で組んだ水汲み場跡を見つけることが出来ます。
