2021/05/16放送、日本テレビ系列の人気番組「世界の果てまでイッテQ！」内コーナー「出川女子会」のロケが西表島鍾乳洞で行われました。
人気お笑い芸人の出川哲朗さんをはじめとしたイッテQメンバーが鍾乳洞ケイビングを楽しんでいる姿が放送され話題になっています！
自然豊かな西表島で体験すべきスポットが鍾乳洞！多くが昔から神聖なパワースポットとして守られてきた場所です。
また、大小様々な鍾乳洞がジャングルの奥地に存在し、マングローブジャングルの中だけでは味わえない自然や動植物に出会うことができます。
石灰岩が溶けてできた洞窟
鍾乳洞は、石灰岩が地下水や地表からの水分によって浸食されて形成された一種の洞窟です。
鍾乳石
天井部分から染み出した、炭酸カルシウムを多く含む水分が結晶化することで少しずつ形成される鍾乳石。これらは「つらら石」とも呼ばれます。
西表島の鍾乳洞は、他地域の鍾乳石と比べて鍾乳石の形成スピードが速いといわれています。
石筍（せきじゅん）
炭酸カルシウムを多く含む水分が天井部分や鍾乳石の先端から染み出て、雫となって地面に落ちる際に結晶化したものです。
少しずつ上向きに伸びるように形成される姿が筍（タケノコ）のように見えるためこのような名前が付きました。
石柱
鍾乳石と石筍が大きくなった結果、両者が繋がる場合があります。すると一本の石の柱のように見えるためこのような名前が付きました。
こちらは石柱になる間際の石筍と鍾乳石。繋がるためにはあと100年ほどかかるといわれています！

鍾乳洞の中へ入って後ろを振り返ると、鍾乳洞の中へ外の光が後光のように差し込む美しい光景が！

I really enjoyed the great nature of Iriomote Island on this tour! It was a really special experience to go through the mangrove jungle by canoe, and I felt as if I was in a different world. The subsequent exploration of the limestone caves was also breathtaking, and it was very moving to feel the millions of years of history as we went through the caves. The guide was very kind and made us feel at ease. We were also given free photos, so we were able to keep them as wonderful memories. This tour gives you a full sense of the charm of Iriomote Island!

Since it was a private tour, I was able to fully enjoy everything I wanted to do without worrying about my surroundings! We were able to fully enjoy activities in the great outdoors, such as canyoning down a waterfall and exploring a mysterious limestone cave. The guide was very friendly and flexible to our requests. We felt like VIPs and had the best memories!

Our guide, Ken, who knows Iriomote Island very well, moved here to enjoy surfing with his family. They are a very nice family. The mangrove was great this time and the limestone cave tour was also great 😀. I would like to visit Iriomote Island again and explore unexplored areas with Ken's guide.

The mangrove SUP and limestone cave exploration tour in Iriomote Island was truly a cinematic experience! As I leisurely made my way through the mangroves on the SUP, the surrounding nature was so beautiful and soothing. After that, the limestone cave exploration was the perfect moment to put on our helmets and lights and step into the mysterious space. The detailed explanation by the guide was very informative, and the photo gift during the tour was a delight! I would definitely join this tour again, even if you are a beginner.

Since it was a private tour, we could enjoy Iriomote Island at our own pace! We chose SUP and snorkeling, both of which were carefully supported by the guide, so even beginners could enjoy them without worries. The free photo data was also a nice touch! It was a luxurious tour where we could monopolize the great nature without worrying about the crowds. I think this tour is perfect for a family trip or a group trip!

The guide was very attentive. He was very knowledgeable about Iriomote Island, and we were able to experience the island without any worries.
