沖縄県公安委員会（沖縄県警）が定める厳しい安全基準をクリアし、公的に「安心・安全のお墨付き」を受けたマリンレジャー事業者のことです（正式名称：安全対策優良海域レジャー提供業者）。

実は、沖縄県内に多数存在するマリン事業者のうち、「マル優」認定を取得できているのはわずか約3％（100社中3社ほど）です。

「マル優」認定を受けるには、現地の警察による厳格な審査・現場確認を通過する必要があり、以下のような高い安全管理体制が義務付けられています。

有資格者の配置（資格を持つガイドや水難救助員などの専門スタッフが常駐）
安全装備・設備の徹底（ライフジャケットの着用徹底、AEDや救命器具の常備など）
緊急時のサポート体制（万が一の事態に備えた迅速な連絡・救助体制の確立）

最初はSUPボードに立つのに少し手間取りましたが、スタッフの方が優しくコツを教えてくださったおかげで、すぐに慣れることができました。緑が生い茂るマングローブの川をゆっくりと進みながら、珍しい植物や生き物についてのお話も聞けて、とても有意義な時間でした。広大な自然の静寂に包まれて、日々の疲れがすーっと抜けていくのを感じます。素敵な写真を無料で送っていただけたのも大変ありがたかったです。

I joined a half-day mangrove tour with my family. Both of my kids had a great time on their first SUP trip and ranked it among the top 3 most fun things they did during their summer vacation. Our guide, Tacky, seemed to enjoy guiding us, and even though it was a short tour, everyone had a great time, adults and kids alike. I joined this tour because I wanted to see the mangroves of Iriomote Island right in front of my eyes. I was not sure if I could ride a SUP, so I rented one SUP and one canoe, and we took turns on the way to and from the tour. I was a beginner, but I was able to ride both without capsizing! We had a great time seeing the mangroves and the Coola Falls. It had been a while since I returned to my childhood and enjoyed nature. The pictures taken by the guide showed many of our natural smiles. I am looking forward to keeping them in my album.

My 10 year old daughter was a bit confused at first, but the guide kindly and carefully taught her how to operate the SUP and she was very happy to be able to operate it easily. I joined this tour when I traveled to Iriomote Island with my boyfriend during our summer vacation. I was worried about the summer heat and the strong sunlight and ultraviolet rays, but the mangrove forest we entered by SUP and the path to the waterfall were surrounded by trees, and some places were rather cool and comfortable. It was like a jungle experience, and I was so excited to see big leaves, birds, and crabs that I had never seen before. I felt again how amazing Iriomote Island is that I could have such an experience in Japan. I am glad I joined the tour. Thank you very much!

When I was wondering whether to go canoeing or sap, the guide told me that I could borrow one with a friend and exchange it for another, so I went with a sap on the way there and a canoe on the way back to Coola Falls...I was very happy to be able to do both.
